Girls Aloud - The Promise (Top of the Pops Christmas Special 2008)
Here’s a little blast from the not-so distant past for your holiday treat. This is probs my all-time favorite Girls Aloud television performance. They are all are extremely on point. Nicola is the Ginger Goddess I fell in love with. Nadine’s vocals are as a strong always had been. I miss them, you lot. I miss Girls Aloud. A lot.

Cos since I come on home,
Well my body’s been a mess
And I miss your ginger hair
And the way you like to dress

Girls Aloud (Nicola Roberts) - It’s Magic
!!!
So, right. My ideal Nicola Roberts solo album would be filled with songs along the lines of “It’s Magic”, “Swinging London Town”, “Nobody But You”, “Untouchable” (FOREVER BITTER about the single edit) and “Love Is Pain”. Also, “Memory of You”. Her verse was a killer though she did not carry this song as much. Kimberley and she should sing duets in all honestly. I love how their voices contrast. I just need an album filled with airy electropop goodness along the lines of Annie basically (then obviously they would tour together and invite Robyn and force Siobhan Donaghy out of music retirement because THIS IS MY FANTASY LIFE mm’kay).
It’s, uh—Nicola just naturally has something musical about her and it’s maddening she has been wasting her talent lately. She would be a force if she just did a damn solo record. SHE WOULD WIN ALL THE AWARDS. She will have the best pop album of all time! (LOL not really—MICHAEL JACKSON, HOLLA—but definitely close enough.)
